How much does digital signage cost in the UK?

Every signage set-up has the same building blocks. Some are one-off costs, and one is yearly.

1. The software (yearly)

Something has to tell your screens what to show and when. That's the CMS (content management system). Most providers charge per screen. Ours costs:

Ours includes monitoring and support from the people who built it. When you compare prices, check whether support is included or extra.

One-off set-up: new customers pay £595 + VAT once per organisation for CMS set-up, however many screens they have. We set up your organisation on Knightsoft CMS, with your branding, layouts and playlists, so your screens are ready when you sign in.

2. The screens (one-off)

You can use a screen you already own (see can you use a normal TV?), or buy commercial screens, which are built for long hours and brighter rooms. Free-standing totems and high-brightness window screens cost more than wall screens. Size, brightness and whether it faces a window make the biggest difference.

3. The player (one-off, if needed)

A small box behind the screen that plays your content. Some totems have one built in. We offer Android, Raspberry Pi 5 and Windows players, and we'll pick the one that suits the job rather than the most expensive.

4. Installation (one-off)

Brackets, cabling, power and getting the screen at the right height. We charge a fixed day rate of £250 per engineer, ex VAT, whether the job takes an hour or the whole day, so several screens fitted on the same visit cost less each. LED screens are quoted per job.

5. Content (one-off or ongoing)

You can make and upload your own pictures and videos at no extra cost. If you'd rather we did it, it's priced to your brief: tell us what you need and we'll quote. See content creation.

6. LED screens (priced per job)

LED is built from cabinets, so the price depends on the size of your space, the pixel pitch and the site. As a guide, our calculator puts an outdoor P2.5 screen of about 6.7 × 1.3 m at roughly £14,250 to £16,100, installed, with CMS set-up and the first year of CMS. Every LED job gets a site visit and a written quote.
